If the physician program isn't a fit

Someone has to show signs of low testosterone to qualify for the Viro Protocol.

No symptoms, or turned away at the intake?

The physician program screens before you pay anything. It requires at least one symptom of low testosterone and excludes some conditions, including recent anabolic steroid use, certain cancers, uncontrolled blood pressure, untreated sleep apnea, and residents of Louisiana. If that's you, you weren't charged, and you still have two good options:

  1. Get a lab-only hormone panel. Testosterone, LH and FSH, ordered online and drawn at a lab near you, about $137 through Discounted Labs. Not available in NY, NJ or RI. Viro isn't affiliated with them and earns nothing from it. Bring the results to your own doctor.
  2. Get your sperm baseline. Sperm Tests and Supplements works on its own and doesn't need a physician.

Please answer the intake honestly. The questions exist to keep the treatment safe.

If the physician says medication isn't a fit

That's a real answer, and a useful one. Here's what it means and what to do with it.

Why it happens

Enclomiphene isn't appropriate for men with liver, thyroid, or adrenal disease, a history of blood clots, a pituitary or brain tumor, or elevated prolactin. Sometimes the panel simply shows testosterone isn't the problem. The intake screens for the first group before you pay; labs and the visit catch the rest.

What to do next

  1. Take the physician's referral seriously. Elevated prolactin, for example, is worth an endocrinologist's look. If sperm is the concern and hormones aren't the cause, a reproductive urologist is the specialist. There are only a few hundred in the country, so ask for a fellowship-trained one by name.
  2. Get a baseline anyway. The three-test kit and supplements work on their own and don't depend on a prescription.

Viro doesn't earn anything from specialist referrals. We'd rather you get the right care than the care we sell.
